Granted research stay in Singapore ARTC centre

The ARTC (Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre) of the prestigious Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR) of the Singaporean government is interested in accepting Master and PhD students for a research stay of 6 months – 1 year in their división of Advanced Robotic Applications, that we visited last February when a UPM delegation went to SIngapore. They are doing quite interesting things in this división and we identified possibilities for a UPM student to do a research internship or stay with them.

They are interested in two profiles:

-       A software engineer to work in systems design, software architecture, software modularity, etc.

-       An AI profile to work in reinforcement learning and multirobot planning.

A*STAR has two grant programs that could support this stay:

-       For Bachelor and Master students: SIPGA (https://www.a-star.edu.sg/scholarships/for-undergraduate-studies/singapore-international-pre-graduate-award-sipga). It pays 2000 $ SGD per month (around 1400€ per month)

-       For PhD students: ARAP (https://www.a-star.edu.sg/Scholarships/for-graduate-studies/a-star-research-attachment-programme) paying 2700 $SGD per month (almost 2000€) plus other benefits.

The process to follow would be to have an interview with researchers at ARTC and if both sides are interested, then ARTC would support the candidacy for either SIPGA or ARAP grant, so it has more possibilities to go through.

Interested candidates please send CV and motivation letter in English (maximum 2 pages each one of the two documents) to delegacion.asia@upm.es before November 10th. The research stay would be for 2023.
